Thanksgiving

Dr. Alexander Kurian

Thanksgiving In The Midst of COVID-19: "In everything give thanks"(1 Thess.5:18). How can we be thankful in the midst of a pandemic? The verse doesn't say "FOR EVERYTHING, but "IN EVERYTHING." We are not called to be thankful for the storms of life, but we can still be thankful in the midst of them. The only way we can constantly give thanks is by knowing that God is working something out in our lives. No combination of happenings can defeat God's purpose in our life, and we are under His constant superintendence. Covid reminds us that we are not in control of our life or our death. This is the time to show our trust in the Lord who is in control and to be grateful to Him for all His manifold blessings in our life. He is growing us, leading us, teaching us, consoling us, and showing us His glory and power even through the pandemic crisis. "Make thankfulness your sacrifice to God" (Psalm 50:14). Happy, blessed and thankful Thanksgiving.
